Meat Share

TapRoot Farms Meat share is made up of licensed free range chickens, pastured pork and pastured beef. All our animals are fed a non GMO grain diet locally grown for us by a neighbouring farmer and is always free of additives and antibiotics.

If we need to buy in meat from other farmers in order to ensure a variety throughout the year we will be sure to source it from farms who have the same growing practices as us.

Full Year - value is $25 per week for 48 weeks or $1200 for the full year

Half Year - value is $25 per week for 24 weeks or $600 for the full year

TapRoot Egg Share (Only Full Year Shares)

Our hens eat non gmo grain grown in the Annapolis Valley. They spend as much time as they wish outside and are closed up at night to keep them safe from predators.

The cost is $7 per dozen or $4 per 1/2 dozen

$7 per week for 48 weeks = $336

$4 per week for 48 weeks = $192

Egg shares are limited in number by how many full monty shares we sell.

Fruit Share

Noggins Corner is where Patricia grew up. Her family farms lots of delicious fruit that we get to eat year round.

Full Year - share is valued at $10 per week for 48 weeks = $480

Half Year - Share is valued at $10 per week for 24 weeks - $240

During the summer and fall you can expect lots of berries, various varieties of apples, pears, plums, peaches, etc. In the winter you can expect lots of apples, cranberries, cider, jams and pears.

This share is not organic. Dad uses current industry standards of integrated pest management and preventative practices to manage the orchards. It is a family business with my brother in law Dwaine managing the orchards and sister Carolyn running many aspects of the business. And you will find Dad (Andrew) at Seaport each week. Beth (Dad's spouse) runs the corn maze and school tours. Not to mention my grandparents are out and about the farm often and still live on the farm.

Summer/Fall Meat

TapRoot Meat share this year will consist mostly of licensed free range non gmo grain fed chickens, pastured non gmo grain fed pork, and pastured non gmo fed beef.

In the past we have included rabbit, duck, and other meat from time to time, which we may still have once or twice. For the most part we have decided to focus on these three animals: chicken, cattle and pig.

We will be sourcing meat from a few other farmers to ensure we have a variety throughout the year. In the past two years we have focused on using only our own animals but do realize that variety is important to you, so we will include meat from other free range/pastured non gmo feeding farmers.
