Bloom and Hammonds Plains Farmer's Market locations for 2014-15 Season!

Hi folks!

Some of you are new and some are returning members this year.  I am emailing just to let everyone know that is registered at Bloom and Hammonds Plains Farmer's Market a few things that are specific to your location before the start of the CSA season (in 2 weeks!):

1.   Firstly, I want you to know that both locations exist!  This winter we had a fair number of cancellations due to weather and so I got to see a lot of the current Bloom membership: Not everyone was aware that Hammonds Plains is a new location for 2014-15.  If you are registered at Bloom and would prefer to be registered at HP Market, please email me as soon as you can and let me know.  The details about each location are available here:

2.    It has already happened a number of times where pickups are missed Wednesday and then members want to reschedule for Thursday at Hammonds Plains.  I have to put my foot down and say that this can ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPEN.  If you miss at Bloom, there is not even sufficient time for me to get your email before we load the truck and head to market, so even if I was tempted to be nice-- I just can't!  :)  (Also in general we have had to crack down on missed pickups in the CSA as it was becoming a problem.)

You CAN, however, reschedule your pickup in advance if you need to.  48 hours notice is best, as Wednesdays are very busy, and if I have too many emails and don't get to it... Them's the breaks.  So, try to be as organized as possible when rescheduling to make sure that I have enough time to sort it out for you.

3.   I am looking to hire or barter with someone to help unload for market from 1:30 - 3 pm and also for someone to help pack up from 6:30 - 7:30 each Thursday.  The market has not been busy enough to justify having two staff members and so if we can get a consistent helper, we could cut down to one staff member.  Once it gets busier in the spring/summer I will also be looking for a young person to help with the market... ideal for a student who is keen on local fruits and veggies and in need of a one-day-per-week 5-6 hr job.  I will let you know once I am looking for the student, and in the meantime if anyone is available and interested in helping unpack and/or pack up at the end of the night on Thursdays, let me know.  :)

4.   If you are new to the CSA and keen on getting up to speed with how things work: I have just created this membership guide, which I hope answers any and all of your questions. (If it doesn't let me know and I will add them to the document after I answer you!).  I will still be sending a general info email around this week, but just wanted to send that in case you have any burning questions in the meantime.

That's far more things than I even set out to tell you in the first place, so Thank You!! and please let me know if you want to change your location before the beginning of the CSA, or if you (or someone you know) can help with market loading or unloading.
