Happy Tuesday. We are so happy that we got the peas, carrots, potatoes, corn and beans in before this rain. The farm fields are so dry. Fingers crossed we have some nice warm days again so they all happily germinate. We also have tilled up one tunnel and we are transplanting spinach. We hope the transplanting will be completed by mid morning tomorrow. Nick, Tim and Jeffery are working on that now while Betty is harvesting shoots, Michael is bagging spinach, I finished washing eggs and now am writing you, Josh is about to start spreading manure, Izaak is fixing cultivation equipment and doing the chores and Katelyn is working from home, entering bills and payments into quickbooks. We are all working along each day and on Thursday the rest of the farm team will be out of isolation and able to join us at work. Josh, Katelyn and I are talking about how we will set up systems and protocols so everyone stays safe at work. We think we will have four work clusters who do not over lap in terms of social distance. They will be grouped based on living arrangements. It sure is hard to sort out how to function on the farm with distance between us all the time but we are doing our best to do it right and keep everyone safe. The adventures continue for us all.
This week is a two week pickup week. Again, we will be at the locations (see below). Metro home deliveries will be on Thursday. Valley Home deliveries I am going to do them later this afternoon.

Hi CSA Members,
Leanne from Hutchinson's Maple Syrup emailed a few weeks back to ask if we would like to participate again this year in a Maple Syrup bulk purchase. Sure, why not? The idea came up a many years ago when we were brainstorming ways to provide increased value to our CSA members and support other local producers. You can order as many as you like at a bulk order price. We need at least a $1000 order or 40 bottles sold to get the discounted price.
Order cut off is May 10th. Maple Syrup will be delivered on May 13rd. (no matter what your invoice says, it is delivered week of May 13rd)
I have just added it to the Add-On section - under bulk buying option - 2 L Maple Syrup. You can log in to your account and order as many bottles as you like.
Please pay for this with etransfer or direct deposit, it is so much easier! In the memo put your name as it appears on the CSA list and the number of bottles you are paying for: firstname.lastname@example.org for etransfers, password: taproot.
Thanks a bunch!
